Project Description
Acquistion of a former chruch situated on 5.91 acres of land. Phase I included gut renovation of an 11,000 sf former church/school building w/ 10 classrooms and specialty rooms, restrooms, a warming kitchen, administrative space, updated HVAC, electrical and plumbing, and bringing the building up to code. Phase II and Phase III included/s the addition of 10,000 sf of temporary modular units (7 + restroom facility). Phase IV, projected to begin in summer 2021 and be completed in 2022 will include the ground up construction of a 30,000 sf, three-story education building.
Value Added Results
The building is located in the heart of a neighborhood in SW Atlanta that otherwise would not have any education in such close proximity. In addition, it provides students w/in the Atlanta public school System w/ a high quality education option vs Atlanta public schools which have struggled to perform for years.
