What have you been doing post OSA?

Went to university at The New School in New York, Majoring in Drama. Minoring in French Studies. While In university, I became sick of waiting for agents, casting Directors and the film industry as a whole to tell me when I was “good enough” to act in film. So, in 2021 myself and my best friend/uni classmate Co-Founded Our film production company “SIRXN Productions LLC.” SIRXN is a Brooklyn based production company that specializes in short films, feature films, music videos, and visuals for brands. Sirxn Productions was founded in 2021, led by Blu Gengo, Marina Sampaio-Story, and Alicia Assaad. We strive to ensure that every aspect of our films - from conceptualization to creation - is approached with a deep commitment to equity, inclusivity, and artistic excellence... We are currently shopping our first feature film with major networks. (And yet to be announced) We are in the process of creating a film festival where wining writers will have their films produced by SIRXN and premiere at Carnegie hall in collaboration with “LTX Connect” a Latinx technology, entertainment media, advocacy network.

Are there any career highlights that you'd like us to share and celebrate?

Not yet hehe big things coming and most I just mentioned is still unannounced. But in the text two years there will be much to share!

How did attending OSA impact your life and career?

I would not be who I am without OSA. OSA teaches kids from an early age that they can get the damn thing done themselves. Ie we don’t have to wait to take our career into our own hands. Putting on events; starting a company; community involvement are all pillars of understanding ingrained into the students at OSA

What does being from Oakland (or the greater Bay Area) mean to you?

Everything. Black Panther party being founded blocks away, the way art is cherished and truthful stories are always being uplifted. It’s a blessing.

What is your fondest memory of being a student at OSA?

The music in the hallways. Seeing “a street car named desire” with Tati as Blanche when I was maybe 12/13. And my first day of 6th grade in 2011 when we had our first assembly in the FOX theatre and the graduating class was 18 people.

Please share which teacher/class at OSA had the greatest impact on you and why:

Y’all raised me I’m not picking between parents.
