Studying Psychology at UC Santa Cruz.
I think that I would probably be a completely different person if I had not attended OSA. OSA is a community that is so tight-knit. I have made lifelong friendships thanks to OSA. OSA has also provided me with so much knowledge on music.
I am very proud to be born and raised in Oakland. Coming to college has really shown me how lucky I am to have grown up around so much diversity. I have met many people from more rural or suburban places and it really does make a difference. Oakland just has so much culture and community and I love it.
My fondest moment at OSA would probably be the last day of school when all of the seniors in vocal sat in a circle and basically just reminisced on our memories at OSA and we all just cried and it was such a lovely moment.
The teacher that had the biggest impact on me was Corinne DeLuca. Before taking any math class with her, I hated math and really struggled with understanding it. But then I had her for precalc and she completely changed my view on math. Although she assigned A LOT of work, she made me learn to love math and become really good at it. She truly just cared about her students' educated and just wanted them to learn!
